Letter of Intent due June 26 for Mentored Research Development Award Program.
The MRDA program goal is to improve the success rate for grant submissions by junior investigators. To do this, MRDA recipients work with their chosen mentor(s) to reach milestones associated with the preparation of a targeted grant application.
MRDA recipients have access to ACCEL’s extensive resources including grant writing workshops, peer mentoring groups, grant review sessions, support from the Professional Development Core, and biostatistics and study design consultations with experts from the Biostatistics Epidemiology and Research Design (BERD) Core.
At the end of the MRDA funding period (Sept. 2024), awardees are required to submit a fully-developed grant proposal to one of the following mechanisms:
- IDeA Program Pilot Grants, such as CTR, COBRE, INBRE, CTSA, or ISPCTN
- Federal agencies such as NIH, PICORI, or AHRQ
- A well-recognized grant-issuing foundation or organization, such as AHA, ACS, etc.
PLEASE NOTE: The Delaware CTR ACCEL Program is in its final year of funding. Although a renewal application has been submitted, there is currently no guarantee of additional funding. Thus, 2023-24 MRDA funding is contingent upon successful renewal of the ACCEL Program by NIH.
