The number of PrEP users in Delaware remains low. High risk populations in Delaware are not assessed or offered PrEP. General lack of knowledge and perceived service navigation barriers. Providers and patients are not aware of insurance changes in Delaware. The guidance is new and the implementation in Delaware is new.

This activity is intended for physicians, physician assistants, nurses, specialists, social work professions, public health professions, pharmacists, community health workers, and other healthcare providers.

Upon completion of this activity learners should be able to:

  1. Discuss treatment efficacy, new protocols, and discuss barriers from the providers perspective.
  2. Discuss new guidance that makes PrEP covered under most health insurance plans, and know the roll out phases of this guidance in Delaware.

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through joint providership of the Medical Society of Delaware and the Delaware HIV Consortium. The Medical Society of Delaware is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
