KCA 4.2 Community Engagement and Outreach

The Specific Aims of the DE-CTR Community Engagement and Outreach (CEO) are as follows:

  1. Establish a new infrastructure that actively involves the community in setting clinical and translational research priorities.
  2. Develop new community-institution partnerships in clinical and translational science.
  3. Identify, educate and prepare community leaders, healthcare providers and institutional trainees, researchers and scholars in the principles and practices of community-engaged and community-based participatory research.

ACCEL 2016 Award Commencement


Research, research, and more research! More than 60 researchers, community research participants, and health care providers signed on for a morning of review of past and present research funded by the ACCEL program in clinical and translational research. This event, held October 20th, 2016 at the Gateway Conference Center in the Wilmington Hospital (Christiana Care Health Services), kicked off a new season of more than a dozen new projects just beginning!

ACCEL Community Research Exchange

We are pleased to invite you to submit your research to be considered for oral or poster presentation at the ACCEL Community Research Exchange!


This event will be held on Monday May 23, 2016 at Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children. We are looking forward to an exciting day of research networking between academic and community partners, with morning oral/platform presentation, a noon poster session, and afternoon workshops/symposia!

The ACCEL Clinical & Translational Research Center (CTR) Community Engagement and Outreach (CEO) component is pleased to announce that we are now accepting applications for the second year of our ACCEL Community Engaged (ACE) Research Awards.  The goal of this program is to create and grow community-academic partnerships to conduct research.  Applications are due August 10, 2015 @ 5pm.
